Today, June 8th 2020 I got a message saying that "The Lane Departure Warning System may not work properly and need to contact the nearest dealer."Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) Provides steering input to help keep the vehicle in the middle of a detected lane and provides audible and visual alerts if the vehicle is detected drifting out of its lane while driving between 45–90 mph (72–145 km/h). I have a 19 MDX with Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS). I "think" it work like this: LKAS provide steering inputs to "try" and keep the vehicle centered within the lane. LDW provides warnings along with a vibrating steering wheel if you get too close to the left or right lane lines.I tried it for the first time today on the highway in stop/go traffic this morning. I set the cruise to 15mph, 3 bars of stopping distance and LKAS was on. I found the braking/acceleration being jerkier than i prefer, and the LKAS sometimes veers off depending on shadows, etc. Definitely not a perfect setup - workable, but not perfect.One annoying issue I've encounter on concrete roadways is occasionally an expansion joint for the concrete will be placed midlane or a bit off center as opposed to the edge of the lane. Lane keep assist will sometimes detect that marking as the lane and attempt to maneuver me into the "lane" even though I'm already in the lane.
